LET’S GET ORGANIZED
A Skill-Building Workshop for
Families of Children with Special Needs
NOW AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH, SPANISH & PORTUGUESE
We invite you to join us for “LETS GET ORGANIZED”, our free skill-building workshop for families of children with special needs.
Children do not come with instructions, and neither do the challenges you face when raising a child with a disability. This workshop will help parents work with their own strengths and successes with concrete written materials to strengthen their organizational skills.
“LET’S GET ORGANIZED” With so much paperwork; so many doctors, reports, school papers—how do we keep it all straight? The focus of this workshop is to:
- Discuss the importance of developing good organizational skills;
- Identify methods of organizing records;
- Recognize the importance of emergency preparedness; and
- Consider effective ways to build a community for your child.
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will have a three-ring binder, organizational supplies, and lots of ideas on ways to bring order to the mountains of paperwork that relates to their child’s medical and educational needs.
Please contact your Regional Coordinator for details on upcoming workshop scheduled or to help organize a workshop in your area. Refer to the Family TIES Staff Listing for contact information.

LISTENING AND LEARNING
Our Parent-to-Parent Program's
Support Parent Training
One of the greatests gifts that parents gain in raising their children is experience. In offering the wisdom that comes from each challenge we face, we lighten the load of those who follow us while validating the value of the lessons we have learned. A Support Parent is someone who is trained to listen, share concerns, and offer information and support, with respect for confidentiality and cultural and individual differences.
Parents who would like to offer support to another parent should contact the Parent-to-Parent Coordinator or your Regional Coordinator to find out when the next support parent trainings are scheduled. The Family TIES Support Parent Agreement, found on our Parent-to-Parent page, can be completed and brought to the training.
At this time, trainings can be offered in English or Spanish.
Please contact your Regional Coordinator or the Parent-to-Parent Coordinator to learn more.
